Tongue Split; Day 8 & 9!

Wow!

Today has been amazing! I finally got my stitches out, and WHAT A RELIEF! It feels SO freaking good now! It feels like I can actually french kiss myself. It looks really good, and I can finally chew normally again. I have almost no lisp left, and I'm really pleased with that! Though there is no doubt that getting the stitches out, was the most painful of all of this.

Here's a picture from yesterday (Day 8), and today, after the stitches :D photo foslashreftersting_zps0fcc1468.jpg

Tongue Split; Day 7!

Oh god! Where do I start? Today has been really frustrating! I was supposed to get my stitches out today, but as it turns out, my job fucked up, so I haven't received a single dime today. Therefore I had 20 kr on my account, that's not even enough for the train there. So, I have had the appointment pushed to tomorrow, 14:45, hoping that my money show up there!

I was told that it wouldn't be a problem to wait a day, to get the stitches out, that it was up to me, how much I could bear. Well, the pains in general has been really mild. About a 3 at the max, but generally a ½-1. As I wrote in the last post, I have had normal dinner for the last 3 days, so I really feel like I'm healing well! I've been looking at other peoples healing photos, I mine really looks good, compared to theirs, so I'm looking forward to getting the stitches out, seeing the "final" result.
- Im gonna post a picture later in the day, so you all can see how well it's healing :)
It has truly been a Happy Healing :)

Tongue Split; Day 4, 5 and 6!

Wow, those last 3 days has been really busy! The pain has been really low, around ½ maybe 1 from 1 to 10. I have eaten REAL dinner for the last 3 days! Which is a really awesome feeling. For two days I had a danish dish called "Brændende Kærlighed" or directly translated "Burning Love!". It's really just mashed potatoes with bacon. It's my favorite meal! Today I had chicken and fries! Im so proud of myself, and I'm looking forward to tomorrow, where the stitches will finally be removed! Im sorry that I haven't written inhere, but I've been so busy with friends and healing that it had really slipped my mind. I will update you tomorrow with a before and after picture of the tongue with and without stitches :)

Tongue Split; The 3th Day!

Today it's the 3th day with my split! I love it! Though it seems unreal, that my tongue should ever be able to naturally fit inside my mouth again! The pain today has been at a 1, from 1-10. It has mostly been the stitches irritating me, no real pain. Today I had a big breakfast! Some scrambled eggs, 1 bun with butter (Cut into 3), and a glass of yogurt!

Also I had "Real dinner" today, consisting of meatballs and some bread. I actually feel kinda full for the first time in the last 3 days. My mom also called me yesterday, and again today. (Note: My family doesn't know about it, and Im gonna let them find out on their own). She didn't even ask why I was talking weird! Well, today has actually been really good, and easy, and last night I slept better than the night before. I can't wait to get those irritating stitches out in 4 days!

Here's the daily picture! .

Tongue Split; The Day After!

So today has been quite a day! Last night was a hell! Not only because of the pain, the pain wasn't so bad, probably a 3 of 10. But because I has to find a way to lay, that felt natural, but without me drowning in my own drool. Today I had yogurt for breakfast, which was really nice, but I tend not to be full from something like that. Later I had half a slice of bread, which took me forever to eat. Then I had some scrambled eggs, which is still my favorite handicap-food to eat! It makes me full, and it's easy to eat :) - For dinner I had some noodles, but that also took me forever to eat. Im gonna eat some eggs before going to bed. - The pain today in general has been on 1-1½ so that really isn't bad. Just hope tomorrow will be just as good, or better! Here's the daily picture! .

Tongue Split; The Day Of!

Finally! My tongue is now splitted! It seems to unreal that it's finally done! - I had an appointment at 15:00, I think we started around 15:20, and by 16:00 I was out of there. The pain wasn't bad at all. I got some numbing cream on my tongue first, after that real anesthetic. After that I didn't even feel the cut! I got around 10-12 stitches, and I only felt two of them. Around an hour later, it was REALLY sore and a bit swollen. An hour later I got really tired, and it was even more sore and swollen. I took an anti inflammatory pill, and had some cold water. I can talk pretty ok right now, the pain is really mild and it's not so swollen anymore. I can move the left side up and down, but the right side isn't so easy to move upwards. Hopefully I will learn soon! The only thing I've eaten for the past 5 hours is a small portion of scrambled eggs. - It didn't hurt, but it was hard to chew it! Tomorrow's challenge will be the yogurt! The stitches will be removed the 16th.! So all in all; the pain of getting it done wasn't so bad, only the irritation. Hope tomorrow will be as painless as this one, or better ;) .

Final Countdown - Stacking Up!

So, today there's only 3 days, 19 hours and 55 minutes, until I have my tongue split. That also means I have to stack up! Some people can eat normal food just hours after having the tongue split, others can't eat anything but liquid food for days. I have chosen to buy noodles, as they are soft and easy to eat. I bought 16 packages! I have never seen the cashier stare so much before. Other than that, I bought yogurt. It's healthy and super delicious, and again; it's cold, and easy to eat. The same goes with the vanilla ice cream. My goal is to eat and drink as much cold stuff as possible, to keep down the swelling of my tongue.

Im a bit nervous at this point, but usually I don't get really nervous untill I'm sitting there. I guess the same goes with this time!
